A pony who was deserted by her proprietor throughout a tough foaling – and needed to bear surgical procedure to take away the useless foal – has been rescued and “given the second probability she deserves”.
A member of the general public reported to welfare charity HAPPA that part-bred Welsh mare Treacle had been left on council-owned land and was in pressing want of veterinary assist, in April.
A spokesperson for HAPPA mentioned Treacle’s story is one among “exceptional resilience”.
