Not too long ago, Every little thing Dinosaur crew members blogged a couple of dinosaur guide from their childhood. The guide was a part of the Ladybird publication sequence. It featured an illustration of a theropod dinosaur on the entrance cowl. We recall the Antrodemus dinosaur illustration.

Our copy of the guide was printed in 1974. This version is fifty years previous. We reminisced in regards to the meat-eating dinosaur on the entrance cowl and requested our weblog readers and social media followers whether or not they too had a duplicate. Might they bear in mind the genus illustrated on the entrance cowl? As at all times, our prospects and social media followers have been up for the problem and plenty of appropriately guessed that it was an Antrodemus. A later print run of this guide corrected the picture and declared it an Allosaurus.
Antrodemus (A. valens) is a genus with a nomen dubium designation. There are appreciable doubts whether or not Antrodemus valens is a legitimate species. The fossils from the well-known Morrison Formation of the USA may signify an Allosaurus.

An Antrodemus Illustration
The art work for the Ladybird guide of dinosaurs was produced by B. H. Robinson. We’ve included {a photograph} of the web page from the guide that reveals the Antrodemus. A pink arrow has been added to the textual content to spotlight the Antrodemus. Allosaurus is the most typical taxon of theropod dinosaur recognized from the Morrison Formation of the USA. That being the case then the fragmentary fossil bones attributed to Antrodemus valens may signify an Allosaurus.
The picture (above) reveals a pair of Haolonggood Allosaurus dinosaur fashions. These are 1:35 scale figures and are widespread with dinosaur mannequin collectors.
